Ninety-six Sharecroppers
at the Farm in the Point

From 1668 to 1964, ninety-six women took turns, one by one, managing the Farm in Pointe-Saint-Charles. They lived in the farmhouse (now Maison Saint-Gabriel) with a few colleagues. Day after day, year after year, the farming sisters, the sharecroppers, performed the same actions, shared the same interests, They took part in all of the daily chores with the same passion, while following changes in customs and keeping up with progress.

The Catherine-Crolo pavilion and the
Sharecroppers' garden
honours them.
