Catherine Crolo Award

The Catherine Crolo Award was created in 1999 on the 300th anniversary of the death of Catherine Crolo, the first intendent of the farm operated by the Congrégation de Notre-Dame.

Over 300 years later, in partnership with the National Bank, Maison Saint-Gabriel continues to honour Catherine Crolo by awarding the Catherine Crolo Award to a woman who has faced up to challenges.

Each year, the Catherine Crolo Award is intended to honour a Quebec businesswomen working in the agricultural and agro-food sectors. It highlights the courage, innovativeness and initiative of a woman... cast in the same mold as Catherine Crolo.

The prize presented to the recipient is a basswood sculpture representing Catherine Crolo. It was created by sculptor Luc Legris, President of the Association des artisans-sculpteurs de Lanaudière.
