Maison saint-Gabriel has an education mission through history to:
Be a window that presents and explains
- the role of Marguerite Bourgeoys in the development of the Pointe-Saint-Charles farm and the work of the King’s Wards;
- the early days of the colony in this part of the Island of Montréal;
- rural life from the 17th century to the 19th century and its cultural, religious and social heritage.
Be a site where the visitor (local, regional, provincial, national and international) can commune with the spirit of those who built the country and their values.
Be a gathering site for groups and organizations interested in history and heritage (particularly with respect to the traditional rural life of Québec), primarily with respect to life in Montréal and the history of horticulture.
