Awards and distinctions

  • 2017 Two Great Honours Awarded to Madame Madeleine Juneau, Director General. On June 22, she was appointed Knight of the Ordre national du Québec and on June 23, she received from His Excellency, the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, the Meritorious Service Cross (Civil Division) which recognizes an activity that has been performed in an outstandingly professional manner and which brings considerable benefit or honour to Canada.
  • 2016 The Governor General’s History Award for Excellence in Museums: History Alive2014 award of excellence in heritage interpretation presented to Maison Saint-Gabriel by the Association québécoise des interprètes du Québec.
  • 2014 award of excellence in heritage interpretation presented to Maison Saint-Gabriel by the Association québécoise des interprètes du Québec.
  • 2013 Gérard-Morisset awarded to Madeleine Juneau, General Manager of Maison Saint-Gabriel. This award is the highest honour granted to an individual for a career dedicated to Québec’s heritage. It is one of the thirteen Prix du Québec awarded each year by the Government of Québec in recognition of a remarkable career in the scientific and cultural fields.
  • 2012 Thomas-Baillargé award presented to Madeleine Juneau, General Manager of Maison Saint-Gabriel by the Ordre des architectes du Québec for her remarkable contribution to the preservation and development of Maison Saint-Gabriel and the overall architectural heritage of the Congrégation de Notre-Dame.
  • 2012 Queen Elizabeth II diamond jubille medal presented to Madaleine Juneau for her overall achievement.
  • 2011 Médaille de l’Assemblée nationale du Québec presented to Madeleine Juneau, General Manager of Maison Saint-Gabriel.
  • 2010 Prix Ulysse presented to Maison Saint-Gabriel, in the Tourist attractions with fewer than 100,000 visitors category. Grands Prix du tourisme québécois 2010 – Montréal region
  • 2009 Prix Bâtisseure du Sud-Ouest presented to Madeleine Juneau, General Manager of Maison Saint-Gabriel, by the Regroupement économique et social du Sud-Ouest (RESO).
  • 2008  The Government of Canada recognizes the national historical importance of Maison Saint-Gabriel.
  • 2007 Prix Ulysse presented to Maison Saint-Gabriel in the category Tourist Attraction – Fewer than 100,000 visitors. Grands Prix du tourisme québécois 2007 – Montréal region
  • 2007 Maison Saint-Gabriel designated as a national historic site by the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada.
  • 2006 Concours UNIO - Personnalité UNIO award presented to Madeleine Juneau, General Manager of Maison Saint-Gabriel, by the Chambre de commerce et d’industrie du grand Sud-Ouest de Montréal.
  • 2006 Québec Businesswoman’s Award presented to Madeleine Juneau, General Manager of Maison Saint-Gabriel, in the category executive or professional employed by a non-profit organization.
  • 2005 Prix Explorateur presented by the Corporation du Pôle des Rapides highlighting the contribution of stakeholders in the community to the renown of the south-west region.
  • 2005 Grands Prix du tourisme québécois – Montréal region in the category Tourist Attraction – Fewer than 50,000 visitors.
  • 2004 UNIO Competition – Business Personality
    presented to Madeleine Juneau, General Manager, by the Chambre de commerce et d’industrie du Sud-Ouest de Montréal .
  • 2004 Certificate of honour presented to Maison Saint-Gabriel by the Conseil des monuments et sites du Québec in recognition of the services rendered to preserve and develop Québec’s heritage.
  • 2004 Rating of A+ for Maison Saint-Gabriel for its museum activities in the report assessing Québec’s museum institutions.
